Wasim A. Tahir

CLIMATE AND DEVELOPMENT FINANCE SPECIALIST

FINANCE

Wasim is a specialist in climate and development finance, private capital mobilisation and blended finance, with a growing focus on climate mobility. His research with the Institute examines how private capital can be mobilised for climate mobility, through green diaspora bonds and remittance-backed instruments.

From 2024 to 2026 he was a Research Fellow at Harvard University’s Center for International Development. Before that, he was a Director at British International Investment, the UK’s development finance institution, where he defined its approach to mobilising private capital at scale, particularly for climate finance.

Speak to Wasim about: financing both pillars, private capital mobilisation and diaspora finance.
